Drilling
The drilling technique
Drilling involves creating holes or openings in metal tubes using a drill or a specialized drilling machine.
This process starts with securing the tube in the drilling machine and then using the cutting tool, usually a drill or drill bit, to gradually remove material from the tube to form the desired hole.
The diameter, depth, and position of the hole can be precisely controlled.
Drilling is widely used in various industries for applications such as the routing of fluids, cables or other components through the tubes, as well as for the fixing or assembling of parts.
The process for drilling tubes
The industrial process for drilling metal tubes involves the use of specialized, adapted drilling machines. TUBEXACT masters the process perfectly.
1. Fixing the tube
The metal tube is secured in the drilling machine, ensuring its stability during operation.
2. Positioning the cutting tool
An appropriate cutting tool, such as a drill bit or drill, is selected and positioned for drilling.
3. Cutting tool engagement
The cutting tool is engaged in the material of the tube, usually by rotating rapidly to begin drilling.
4. Drilling the hole
The cutting tool gradually removes material from the tube to form the desired hole, guided by the parameters of the drilling machine.
5. Depth and diameter control
Devices integrated into the drilling machine allow precise control of the depth and diameter of the hole, thus ensuring consistent results.
6. Additional operations (if required)
After drilling, the tube can be subjected to additional operations such as cleaning or surface treatment to meet the specific requirements of the application.
